The history of IBM

Started as Computing-Tabulating-Recording Company (CTR) in 1911 was then renamed International Business Machines (IBM) in 1924.

Today IBM manufactures and markets computer hardware, middleware, and software, and offers to host and consulting services in areas ranging from mainframe computers to nanotechnology.

As of 2017, IBM is the current record holder for the most patents generated by a business for 24 consecutive years.
